Dr Amal Gunatilake
Founder & Principal Engineer — PRISM AI
Dr Amal Gunatilake is a Robotics Research Engineer with over 8 years of hands-on experience in robotics and artificial intelligence. Holding a PhD in Robotics, he brings a rigorous academic foundation paired with deep practical expertise in both software and hardware integration.
Prior to his PhD, Amal served 5+ years at WSO2 as a Senior Solution Architect, deeply embedded in R&D for open-source enterprise software products. His work spanned cloud-based business process automation, integration middleware, and scalable platform architecture — giving him a production-grade engineering foundation that directly informs every solution PRISM AI delivers today.
His interdisciplinary profile spans embedded systems, AI pipelines, web and graphic design — enabling him to own projects from circuit board to user interface. Driven by a passion for pushing the boundaries of what machines can do, Amal founded PRISM AI to deliver precision-engineered technology solutions and bring the next generation of robotics and AI innovation to industry.
